Danielle Smith, Studio Director

Hi there! I’m Danielle Smith and I have been a Kindermusik studio owner and educator since 2005. Before that I was a high school band director and private trumpet instructor. Teaching young children is truly my calling and I enjoy every day that I come to Kindermusik and see your children smile, laugh, learn, and grow alongside their friends and family! I am so thrilled to have grown my program over the years and to be able to bring on a TEAM of amazing women who share my passion for working with children and their parents. I have also found joy not only in teaching Kindermusik, but I like to work alongside other educators to grow their programs as well by serving on the Educator Board for Kindermusik International.

Ms. Danielle is so kind. Her love for children and music shows in every class. If our daughter was having a bad day she always had a way to turn her frown upside down. Thank you for loving her and teaching her all about loving music.

Sharon Martin, Licensed Educator

Hi! My name is Sharon Martin and I grew up surrounded by music (my mother was always singing around the house). I was a  singer in our church choir and choirs at school. My husband, Luke, and I met here in Killeen while he was stationed here at Ft Hood. He is originally from Washington DC and I am originally from Dallas (and funny story, we actually moved to Killeen the same exact day but wouldn’t meet for 2 more years). We have been married for 7 ½ years and in that time we have rescued 2 dogs (Molly and Daisy), bought and renovated our house, and transitioned out of the army. I have been working with children for over 20 years – from babysitting/nanny to teaching. I have taught all ages from infants to high schoolers… but teaching littles is by far my favorite!  I was first introduced to Kindermusik 6 years ago teaching at a local MDO program. Fast forward 5 years and I was asked to join Danielle's team of awesome teachers!

About Us

Neely Brown, Licensed Educator

My name is Neely Brown and I'm from the Phoenix area. I have a husband in the Army and 3 little girls. This is our first post. I was also raised in a military family.  I have worked with children in some capacity since I was 18 years old. I was a preschool teacher for about ten years until I had my own babies. My first experience with Kindermusik was there, observing our music teacher, who was a Kindermusik educator. I thought she had such a fun job! Now I have the opportunity to serve families in this way and I'm so excited! Thank you for sharing your little ones with us. I look forward to watching them grow!

Our Staff

Aubry White, Piano Instructor

My name is Aubry White. I am a private instructor here at Kindermusik with Danielle. During the day, I serve as the band director to a wonderful group of kids at Manor Middle School here in Killeen, Texas. Originally, I am from the Nashville area in Tennessee, and moved to the area about 2 years ago to take my current position with KISD. I have been studying music/piano since I was about 7. I learned to play the flute in middle school, which carried me into my college career. I am a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education. I am beyond thrilled and humbled to embark with this opportunity to teach young people the instrument that made me fall in love with music.

Savanna Coburn, Licensed Educator

I am originally from the north east area of Texas and grew up in a small town, Hooks TX. I loved playing the clarinet and decided to make music my career by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music education from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. Since graduation, I have taught music at the pre-K and elementary school level in Princeton, TX, and I have taught band for 6th - 12th grade students at Redwater ISD and Queen City ISD.  My husband, Zach, joined the Army in the summer of 2015 and brought us to Fort Hood where I also taught ESL elementary students at Copperas Cove ISD. I chose to be a stay at home mom once my daughter, Bethany, was born in August of 2016, and it has been my favorite job so far! I have just recently joined the Kindermusik with Danielle team and hope to begin teaching this fall!

Erin Gibson, Piano/Flute Instructor
As a native of Temple, Texas, I began taking piano lessons at age 5 and flute lessons at age 10.  While pursuing my music education degree at UMHB in flute performance, I also accompanied two recitalists on piano and studied with flutist William Bennett of the Royal Academy in London. In 1999 I earned a master of music degree in flute performance from Baylor University in Waco. I was a successful beginning, middle, and high school band director for 13 years and have accompanied high school students at UIL state solo and ensemble contest. Currently I teach many middle and high school students privately, and continues to perform professionally, playing flute and piccolo with the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and principal flute with Central Texas Master Singers. I am looking forward to working at Kindermusik with Danielle!

Karen Griffin, Office Manager

Hi all, I’m Karen Griffin!! I have been so blessed to have a loving and supportive husband, Kevin, and we have been married for 15 years. During those 15 years, we did 8 deployments with the Army, and each time it got harder and harder. While my husband was gone, I held down the fort back home. I was lucky to be a stay at home mom to our three daughters over the last 15 years and it has allowed me to enjoy our children growing up. Through it all, I have been able to earn two college degrees and attend classes to become a special needs advocate for our daughters. Our oldest has Autism, ADHD, and a few other disabilities and our youngest has SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). I have had to learn so much information just to not only fight for these two but to help others understand why they do what they do. I have a special place in my heart for special needs children. I want to make sure that they are not only accepted for who they are but they are able to grow and learn in a way that works best for them. I can promise you that here at Kindermusik with Danielle your entire family will be loved and accepted by all of us!

Katie Rachal, Licensed Educator

My name is Katie Rachal and I'm one of the instructors here at Kindermusik with Danielle! I have loved music all my life; I began piano at age four, choir at nine, and saxophone at eleven. I went on to earn my degree in music education at the University of North Texas, and spent seven years teaching elementary music in public schools. After my son was born, I decided to leave the public system and teach privately. In 2017 I became the Kindermusik teacher at Saint Francis Episcopal School and have loved every moment! I am also "mommy" to two wonderful babies, Matthew and Lenna. My husband is also a musician - he teaches middle school band and plays the trumpet. (You could say we have a very musical household!) I am so excited to start another year teaching Kindermusik and getting to see all my students!

Our Values
We want every family in our studio to laugh and experience joy during their time at Kindermusik. Our colorful, bright studio sets a happy tone for everyone who enters the door!

Every class, every child, every teacher is different. We know that children learn best when they feel happy and safe, so our team is committed to making each class unique and specially adapted for the needs of the children in that class.

Children need to feel safe and grown-ups do, too! Our classes are a haven for positive thoughts, encouragement, and support between parents, teachers, and children. This is a judgement-free zone where everyone (children and adults) is free to be themselves without criticism.

When judgement is thrown out and acceptance and child-centered instruction is at play, the real learning can begin! Watch as your child begins to achieve and progress through the building blocks of early childhood at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate for them. All of the important skills, both cognitive, physical, and social can be achieved through our classes.

The best and closest relationships are often formed in childhood or through our children. Many lifelong friendships have begun in Kindermusik between children and their parents, children and their teachers, and between parents and other parents. We love the connections that are made through the universal language called MUSIC.
